UGH! What is God’s Will for My Life?

I used to be totally overwhelmed by the idea of figuring out God’s will for my life. It felt like every major decision—choosing a college, picking a career, even where to live—was the one that would either lead me to success or ruin everything. I thought there was this perfect path I was supposed to find, and if I didn’t pick it, I was messing up my whole future. So, yeah, I stressed a lot.

But here’s the thing: after a lot of prayer and reflection, I’ve come to realize I was asking the wrong question. Instead of stressing over “What is God’s will for my life?” I should have been asking, “How can I glorify God in whatever season I’m in?” or as Louie Giglio would say…”My life for God’s will!”

It may sound simple, but it really changed the way I look at things. It’s less about finding the perfect path and more about making sure I’m honoring God wherever He has me, and in whatever I’m doing. The coolest part is that this shift in perspective brought so much peace. Instead of feeling paralyzed by the pressure of making the right decision, I’m focused on living in a way that glorifies God in any season of life.

Hi y’all, Maddie here again! Revere has been a game-changer for me. At Revere, I was taught that God’s will isn’t about a specific college or career choice—it’s about how you show up and live out your faith no matter where you are. Revere gave me the tools and confidence to step into any situation—whether in the workplace, my community, or even just in everyday interactions—and live out my calling to glorify God.

I know the “What is God’s will for my life?” question is something so many people struggle with. But honestly, the answer might surprise you: it’s not about finding the perfect path. It’s about honoring God in the one He has you on. Be there for the ride, submit to Him in obedience, and surrender. He wants to use you! The more I focused on that, the clearer the path became.

So, if you’re feeling stuck or overwhelmed by the “right” choices to make, I’d encourage you to stop stressing about finding the perfect will of God. Instead, ask yourself, “How can I glorify God in this moment, in this decision?” When you make that your focus, everything else will start to fall into place.
