Turning on Your Spiritual AirPods
Have you ever been someplace trying to focus but it was so loud and overwhelming that you had to pop in your noise cancelling earbuds, so you could drown out the distractions and concentrate?
In today’s world, we’re constantly bombarded with information, diversions and pressures. Constant notifications on our phone demanding our attention, social media posts making us feel like we should always be doing more to “be enough”, and busy schedules that rarely offer downtime, can leave us feeling deflated and distracted. Our focus on God dissipates as other things vie for our attention. “When the enemy can’t destroy you, he will distract you.” (attributed to Adrian Rogers)
But there is a difference between hearing the noise around us and actually listening to it.
Hearing is passive – noise comes in one ear and out the other. Listening, however, is intentional. As Christians, we can't afford to listen to every voice we hear. The enemy’s voice comes in many forms and can distract us from God’s purpose. We need to be aware of what we’re allowing to shape our thoughts.
As Christians, we need our spiritual AirPods. We must tune out the enemy's lies and focus on God's voice, which is the only one that matters. The enemy seeks to kill and destroy so knowing the truth and God's word is how we fight this. Tune out the enemy and focus on God!
Hi! I’m Maddie, and I’m excited to share this insight with you. I recently heard Christine Caine speak at the Passion 2025 conference, and it really clicked. For the past two years, Revere has been my spiritual AirPods. This environment has helped me grow in my faith and hear God's voice more clearly. It’s equipped me to face a world that doesn’t always support my beliefs. When I first came to Revere, I was searching for a deeper understanding of God. I’d experienced His power, but I didn’t know how to live out my faith. Now, I’m confident in applying it to my life.
Graduation is approaching, and as I reflect on my time at Revere, I’m filled with gratitude. These years have truly shaped me.
If you’re looking for a place to grow in faith and strengthen your relationship with God, I encourage you to check out Revere. It’s changed my life, and I believe it can do the same for you!
